Preschool Advanced Beginner
Ages: 3-5
Prerequisites: To enroll in Advanced Beginner, your swimmer should be able to comfortably swim without the aid of a flotation device, swim-float-swim (20 ft) and, back fin (20) ft.)
Description:
In Advanced Beginner, your swimmer will begin to learn how to swim the formal strokes of freestyle with side breath and backstroke. The Freestyle Side Breathing skill may be the most important skill one learns in the learn-to-swim process. Advanced Beginner is drill-oriented with unique skill progressions for the following:
- Kicking with the Kickboard and other advanced independent floatation devices.
- Back Kick refinement (40 ft)
- Beginning Backstroke (40 ft)
- Freestyle with rolling breath-20 ft.
- Introduction to diving (Kneeling Dive)
- Safety Jump- Independent and without goggles, roll onto back to float, Jump, turn, swim to safety & exit the pool
